Large leathery wings lazily stroked the air. Sharp eyes scanned the ground for signs of life. She thought of the last time that she had flown straight to two wolves standing alone on the ground. She smiled as she thought of the look of shock and awe on their faces. She had flown and landed right in another pack’s territory, she had tried to apoligiz for her mistake, but the male seemed quite angry with the younger female that he had been talking with. She laughed as she remembered how the female had drooled over her eye markings, and her wings. She turned her head slightly to look her wings over; a smirk came to her lips. She slowly descended to the ground. Her wings folding slowly as she neared her ground. She landed softly and folded her wings close to her back. She was in a small clearing somewhere in the woods. It smelled strange, but not like other wolves. ‘It smells like…’ she inhaled deeply trying to name the odd scent, and then it hit her, ‘death.’ She sniffed the air carefully her body tense ready for an attack, but nothing came. She strode through the forest standing tall and avoiding the smell of death. Her mind wondered to what it would be like to live in a pack again. She missed the close family that made up a pack. She sighed softly and let her feet carry her where they may. She came to a sudden halt, her mind was made. The next pack she came too, she would try to join. She sniffed the air carefully, and was rewarded. The smell of wolves hit her full in the face. Her brown fur fluffed out slightly in excitement. Pausing momentarily to shake the feathery soft fur that lined her sleek muscular body, before setting out at a fast trot her senses open searching. Her nose twitched as she ran on searching for the boarder she knew had to be close. Her powerful agile legs carried her on. Suddenly the border was clear; a road cut the forest to a burb halt. ‘What an odd place for a pack to live. It looks like a rundown city…’ Her blue eyes scanned the city, and locked on the building before her. Her ears pricked, something about it caught her attention. She shook her head and looked about once more; she saw no movement. Sliding her right foot back and puffing her chest out, she took a deep breath. Her song was sweet, and musical. Her head was held high, her ears flat against her skull. Her song rang on calling for the alpha or any member that would take her to the alpha, her howl also told that she was no threat, unless threatened.

[bg=000000][atrb=width,450,true][atrb=border,0,true]What the hell am I doing? The essa asked herself with a heavy outward sigh as her feet carried her once again in some random direction. It seemed like lately her head was always in the clouds; she would start to thing about things, presently happening things, and thoughts of the past--Lorelei’s thoughts--filled her head. It had been long enough, Taboo had put these things behind her.
She had “killed” her former self, starting again as soon as her pups had been born dead. Lorelei had been put to rest a long time ago, the sorrow and heartache should be nothing but a distant memory. But somehow they persisted, refusing to go away until she stopped running and faced the survivors guilt that eat at the back of her mind. Taboo refused; she would keep running for the rest of her life if she had too.
But it would help if she were to stop physically running from mental phobias. The crimson femme would be so preoccupied by her thoughts that by the time she realized she was actually moving, she was in a completely different place from where she had started. Luckily this time, she turned up in a place she was familiar with and was safely within the pack’s territory.
This had been the place where she had met Nahani, the alpha’s rebellious son. Tank was rather strict on him, attacking him sometimes for no reason… Taboo assumed if was for good reason, but she had spent time with Nahani, just the two of them, and from what she had gathered from his personality thus far was nowhere near how she had first thought. He was… charming… in his own little way. But what dampened her mood what the suspicion that it was the feelings the dark brute stirred within her that was causing these relapses in her memories and emotions.
Thankfully, a sweet symphony graced the beta’s ears. Instantly, her whole body stalled, ears pricked, straining to hear every melodic cord. A smirk slithered across her maw; a distraction! Perfect timing! She shook herself in excitement, thrusting her head to the clouds and replied with her own song, the lyrics sweet and soothing like a mother’s lullaby. And like that, she was off, the last note had hardly escaped her before her legs were racing toward the new loba.
A few twists and turns, dodging walls and rocks, darting through a little hole (her shortcut), slowing to an easy lope so as not to appear too elated, round one more turn, and there she was in all her glory. Warm yellow-gold eyes slid over her frame as she strode closer. What a pretty little thing; Taboo guessed the dame to be around her own age, give or take. Her eyes were stunning and her fur looked like the bark from a redwood tree; her flight-givers were large and strong. She must be popular with the boys, Taboo mused to herself. Oh well, so long as she stayed well away from Nahani, Taboo had nothing against her.
Finally coming to a stop before the other, the vix raised her tail high in her dominance. None ranked higher than she save the alpha pair. ”Maa, maa, what brings you to the Aracnia, winged one?” She spoke velvety soft. It was a good thing it had been Taboo to find her, Tank or Kashmore might not have been so sweet.

Excitement gripped her heart like snow and ice gripped winter. She shook her body carefully and lowered her tail, just in time. The crimson female stepped from the ruins, what a lovely female. She stood with a beta’s air. ‘Good I think speaking to a beta is perfect, maybe she can take me to the alpha.’ She thought calmly as her eyes stroked the female’s frame and pretty fur. She smiled warmly and dipped her head in respect. She listened to her words carefully hanging on each one, making sure to not miss any hidden meanings. She pricked her ears and smiled once more, trying to be friendly. Her voice was warm and humble, “My name is Pyromors, but you may call me Pyro. I am here requesting to join this pack.” She watched the female carefully not wanting to miss something. Her brain sent a memory flashing through her head. She was back with her old pack, a wolf had come to her father and mother. Nobody knew she had followed them to meet with the new wolf. She soon saw what happened when a pack didn’t want a wolf that didn’t take no for an answer. They had tried to run him off but he wouldn’t listen. His live was soon ended when he went for Pyro’s mother. She had always feared the same would happen to her . She flicked an ear quickly to dismiss the thought. If anything was to happen she could always fly away or fight. She smiled warmly at the female, and watched her carefully. She watched her muscles making sure she wasn’t tensing. She also sniffed the air the air, breathing in first the pack’s scent line making sure she wasn’t over it, then breathing in the female’s scent. She smelt of three other wolves, as well as her own sweet scent. She looked once more over her pretty red coat. OOC:; I’m really sorry it’s so short!!

[bg=000000][atrb=width,450,true][atrb=border,0,true]Very interesting, Taboo thought, allowing a warm, motherly smile to grace her features. This would be the first time that would be dealing with a new wolf wanting acceptance, most just came to Tank or where Tank’s prior acquaintances. But this being a relatively new pack and all, not many wolves had been accepted anyway. It was exciting; successfully distracting the fem from all those nasty thoughts about males and past relationships.
Pyromores. It made her think of fire and she subconsciously traced the flames that licked the top of the russet femme’s eye, but the blue was distracting. It made her feel cold and Taboo found herself at the marking below her eye… was that ice? How amusing; fire and ice so close to one another, split by the endless ocean that was Pyro’s dazzling blue eyes. The crimson ess had always wished she had blue eyes, not the yellow snake eye she was cursed with. Blue was beautiful on any wolf.
”I see… you can call me Taboo. The vix replied, “Tell me, Pyro, what knowledge do you have of the Aracnia? Any at all?” She asked, generally curious. This dame seemed friendly enough and was thus far quite charming, but this pack was a little… fierce. It was only proper to make sure she knew what she was getting herself into before she spoke about acceptance.
Taboo relaxed her muscles, reclining to her haunches. She sensed no ill will here, so it should be safe for her to lower her guard a bit. If worse came to worst, the betess was fast on her feet, able to leap backward or duck quickly incase of a surprise attack. But all in all, she was attempting to show the new essa that Taboo was currently no threat to her or her well being.

A suddenly chill tickled Pyro’s back as the female, Taboo, asked of her understanding of this pack. She traced her claws through her memory, searching for any scrap of information. She soon came up short. Her voice was smooth and calm, “Miss Taboo I have heard nothing of this pack.” Her blue eyes caught the attention Taboo was giving her eye marking, and her eyes. It tickled her to see how much attention she was given, not just by this female, but by all wolves. She knew it was odd to have fire and ice, polar opposites, so close to one another. Her attention shot back to Taboo as she moved. She tensed quickly, as she sat, then tried to play it off as a muscle spasm. ‘What is wrong with me? Why am I so damn jumpy here?’ She growled inwardly at herself. How she would reprimand herself later with hard training. Jumpiness is what killed all animals, especially when it was a loner wolf dealing with a beta. Pyro knew her fight instinct was much stronger than her flight, there for she would have to be careful. Something about this place screamed anger, and hatred. She solemnly shook the feeling away and lowered herself into a sitting position. Her eyes took in Taboo and all of her glory. She was odd indeed, blood red and white and black, with piercing yellow eyes, like that of a cat. Pyro’s interest increased as she saw something flash within the yellow depths. ‘Doubt? Does she doubt my ability to be… oh damn what that word… ruthless is when it comes to standing up for myself, or my pack?’ She turned her full attention to Taboo. Her voice was a little harder than it had been, but not threatening, “With all due respect, Miss Taboo, I’m not as nice as I appear to be. I can and will stand up for my pride, and my pack. I will not be pushed around.” Her smile faded slightly, on an afterthought she added, “I would enjoy hearing anything you would like to tell me about your pack”

[bg=000000][atrb=width,450,true][atrb=border,0,true]The essa seemed to maul over her thoughts for a moment, likely trying to remember any scraps of information she might have caught on the breeze about the lab wolf pack. It wouldn’t be surprising for her to know very little; most knew of the pack, but had never been able to make sense of the rumors they heard. All sorts of things were floating out there, Taboo knew - she had been a loner not too long ago and had heard the gossip herself. She had never dreamt herself a high ranking position within a pack that was only a myth to the rest of the world, but look at her now.
“You know nothing of this pack, yet you wish to join?” She inquired, raising a delicate brow, but otherwise remaining unfazed by the confession, ”You’ve got guts, I’ll give you that.” There was a warm smile across the red femme’s maw now. It was heartwarming and relaxed, like a mother would give her child after witnessing its crazy, yet amusing, antics.
Taboo’s tail beat against the ground, playing out a rhythm to ease some of the silence. She was rather enjoying herself; it was nice to just sit and talk to someone like this, not having to worry about authority (aside from her own) and the advances of pushy, horny boys. There was just so much of pack chat and pillow talk she could take before she had to find more enlightening conversation… She really needed to make some friends; it was getting a little lonely at the top.
”I have no doubt, Pyro, that you shall stand up for what you believe and will be loyal to the pack - I can see it in the way you carry yourself - but within Aracnia you might find yourself having to stand up against your pack… or risk being eaten…” The betess didn’t put it past some of her pack mates to be cannibalistic, after all, she had witnessed Tank slaughter other wolves just for the pure joy of murder and the bittersweet taste of betrayal on his tongue. ”But then again, you might put yourself at risk of the very same thing by doing so. It‘s a test; every conversation, every bodily movement is an unpredictable game of fates.”
Yellow eyes narrowed inquisitively, studying the dame’s body language. ”You’ll have to use your wit, respond to the higher-ups in a way that will display your solidity and loyalty to your way of life, yet also sound submissive and show that you know your place… It’s not easy to survive here.” Taboo had to admit, some of it was over exaggerated and would likely never happen, but she figured that if you expected to be bitten, you’d be happy when all they did was curses at you.
“Are you firm on your decision of joining our ranks?”
