NYKA
With a flash of orange; Optimism strikes again!
Name: Nyka (nai-ka)
Nickname(s): …
Gender: Female
Age: 2
Species: Sildrin
Eye Color: Orange
Pelt Color: Orange
Physical Description:
Nyka’s slender build and slightly smaller than average size hint toward stealth, speed and endurance more than strength. Her lean muscles are covered by a thick coat of orange fur which is powdered with darker shades on the top of her muzzle, along her shoulders, all four of her paws, and the tips of her ears and tail. Her eyes, as is the norm with Sildrin wolves, match her fiery coat with a reddish orange hue, and they are always sparkling with a hint of a smile.
Personality:
Talking would have to be one thing that Nyka is really good at. Once she gets to know someone as a friend she will talk to them about anything. She even talks in her sleep. You could carry on a conversation with her while she slept if you wanted to, though what you talk about may be rather ridiculous. She is easily distracted from one thing to another so her conversations can go all over the place, be warned. On the other hand, if she doesn’t know somebody then it is hard to get her to say anything at all.
Nyka hates being sad and wouldn’t be caught dead crying in front of others if she had anything to do about it. She is rather slow to anger and may even seem a bit ignorant about insults and things at times, though in reality she understands them; she just chooses not to be offended by them.
Nyka can find beauty in almost anything. Even if it is something considered ugly to most eyes.
When push comes to shove, unless she's in a really bad mood or really rearing to go Nyka will either submit before it starts, or loose hopelessly. If she ever does get into a fight she will have to rely on her mind, her speed, and her endurance, because she has absolutely no battle skills whatsoever. End of story.
History:
Mother: Lollyn
Father: Chardric
Brother(s): Kryk, Lan
Sister(s): none
Past/Current Mate(s): none
Offspring: none
The first six months of Nyka’s life were filled with nothing but happiness. She was born second in the litter to a couple in a small pack. She grew up happy, playing with her brothers and the other pups in the pack. She never had anything to really complain about, that is until the humans came and kidnapped her, her brothers, and four other pups and brought them to a lab for experimentations.
Nyka and her brothers were turned funny colors, and they were the lucky ones. After a while they were put in a holding pen with other mutated wolves. Nyka tried to keep her spirits up, but it was getting difficult. When the breakout ensued Nyka and her brothers were quick to take to the woods. They stayed in hiding until things cooled down, which was when the trio split up and they all went their separate ways.
RP Example: A post with my character Lilly on Karnova:
Lilly had been ecstatically surprised when she heard the sound of waves and ran out onto the beach in the middle of the night. The waning gibbous moon hung in the sky as her worn old leather shoes sank into the black sand. She removed her footwear and dropped her backpack to run out to the water with a cry of victory. She’d found the ocean! Now all she had to do was find a boat to take her across so she could find Samson. She shifted to wolf form and howled to the moon with joy as she raced along the shore, the water lapping up over her paws as she ran. Samson was just across these waters. Lilly was probably closer to him now than she’d been in years. And she was, though she had no idea, at the very northern tip of the Ialde Beach, where the cliffs made a rocky transition into the fine black grains of sand that the beach was famous for.
The ecstasy welled inside her again with no way out but up and another howl escaped her maw. She howled at the moon in defiance of her lack of a sense of direction. She had found the ocean, as was her goal. Nothing could bring her down from this high. She made her way back to her pack and shifted again to put it on, then shifted back so she could run faster. She ran with the water on her right for what seemed like ages, looking for a port, or even just a boat, but after half an hour of running without finding anything Lilly realized just how unlikely it was for her to find what she was looking for. Maybe there wasn’t one at all. Fear and sorrow flooded through her, drowning out her joy. This time when the howl came it was one of deep sadness.
Lilly shook herself to rid herself of such depressing feelings. She hated feeling sad, and she refused to dwell on her failure. Better to think of more uplifting things.
She was at a beach.
In the middle of the night.
With nobody around.
Of course she was going to make a sand castle!
Lilly shifted once more to her human form, her smooth black tipped silver hair was pulled up and it fluttered in the ocean breeze. It was a calm, cloudless night, perfect for building with sand. Lilly had no tools, but she had her hands and that was all that mattered. She sat herself down in the black sand, placing her pack away from the water to stay dry, and began to pile it into a mound that she would shape to become a beautiful castle with queens and kings and princesses and princes and knights and maidens and damsels. At least it would in her head. In reality it would probably end up looking like a pile of sand, but it was the imagination that mattered, not what it looked like.
