Like visions from a nightmare half-forgotten,
And remnants from a lingering dream of peace,
Some hellish offspring misbegotten,
And lonely wanderers seeking release -
We are the monsters, and we are the beasts
Laying claim to this land, from the west to the east.
Divided and broken, and ruined by man;
Once chained in the shadows, his throne is now ours.
From city to forest - divided we stand -
United in freedom under the stars.
Are we tainted by science? Ruined by gods?
Destroyed by ourselves? Mere victims of the odds?
We are wolves by our blood, and wolves by our ken

SEASON : Autumn
YEAR : One
Mating ---- Birthing
The lion of summer is finally bowing out, giving way to the gentler embrace of fall. The leaves are turning and beginning to fall, littering the ground with a veritable cornucopia of oranges, reds, yellows, and dusty browns. The temperature too has started its slow descent; it seems the world is suddenly awakening, realizing how close at hand the cold, cruel grip of winter really is. Every creature is on edge, because this is the last-chance season: grab what you can from what's left, before it's gone.
I really appreicate you guys nominating me for staff of the month. I did work really hard on this place to make it to be something exciting and wonderful and i love how you guys wanted me as staff of the month. I love you guy. You guys are the best
Aww you guys are the best! I am honored to be Member of the Month for this month. I come on here every day and enjoy talking to you all so much! You guys have made this a great site and I hope you all enjoy it as much as I do. <3 You guys rock! I love you all.
A true gentleman is far from what the personality of this male is. Skoll is a very quiet and reserved character, watching and waiting for the prefect moment to split open someone guts. All of the shit he's had to deal with doesn't seem to be the reason why he acts how he does. What most don't realize is his insane habits are merely one part of his personality. Keep reading in on his rps or join them to learn just what I have planned for this sly man.
"Okay, let me get this straight... Everyone likes me so much I was elected as best male of the month? Well damn... Didn't see that coming. *grins* I'm the first one too? I'd love to rub this in my father's face." - Skoll

Tank and Kashmore are one of the most interesting couples here on PD, Their love is something that has never been seen. Tank the aggressive wolf is something that no one wants to mess with yet the shy and soft kashmore has wanted everything to do with him. she has seemed to be able to tame the wild beast. though when there are others around Tank is the aggressive and abusive male that he has always been though when they are alone he is tender and soft.
This thread started out as the two lovers tank and kash alone catching up for old times. They are confronted by Tank's Son from a female that he killed many years ago Nahani and in the mist of their conversation the beta of the pack joins the group and seems to be stirring up jealousy in the new alphess' heart.
It began innocently enough, as all things do. Few and far between are the occasions men set out to do evil, knowing it to be so.
There were many reasons the Lykotech Facility held fast its solid but quiet position in the world, buried deep in the mountains – that unseen region where people live out their lives in quiet desperation, unnoticed by the affluent members of society exalted in the cities. It brought work to the people; with jobs came money, and with money came the semblance of comfort. Theirs were eyes willing to avert for a few extra dollars. Lykotech provided a product, but it had nothing to do with the array of animal drugs and pet foods that left its warehouse. The truth was buried beneath the factory, in more ways than one.
Government, military, and scientific contracts funded the real operation under Lykotech’s production floor. In the interests of “science” and “exploration,” men and women in long white coats played at deities at the expense of creatures that could not speak for themselves. Perhaps it began nobly; perhaps what the scientists had in mind were cures and knowledge for better lives. But absolute power and a steady stream of money can corrupt even the brightest of goals. Slippery slope though it is, it was not long before genetic studies, chemical tests, and biological weapons testing pervaded the underground laboratory – soon nothing was out of reach, or out of the question. But not all things are built to last. Lykotech’s usefulness began to run thin. Suits and uniforms on Capitol Hill ceased to see promises fulfilled and “advances” made. Coin purses were cinched up, and palms that had gotten used to being regularly lubricated were left high and dry. Lykotech was in danger of being eclipsed by more promising research organizations with more… promising prospects. But the scientists would not admit defeat so easily. They needed something new, grand, and unprecedented to regain the favor of their government benefactors. They shrank Lykotech’s cover operation down to next to nothing, and sent most of its workers home.
Wolfsong had once been a nightly feature enjoyed by the people of the hills, before Lykotech stopped producing dog food and heartworm medication. At first, the people were too preoccupied with the immediate concern of putting food on the table to notice how their environment had begun to change. The simple fact was that the people had little reason to concern themselves with the true motives of a company when they were hard-pressed to feed their children. And the simple fact remained: if there were any suspicions of unsavory conduct staining the hands of Lykotech, no one could produce evidence to accuse them. It would take one inside man with cloudy motives and a lot of chutzpah to wake up a population, and start a chain reaction.
Neil Harper. Few would remember his name, much less his face – both would be eclipsed by the grotesque photographs he leaked to the only news station that serviced the hills. He revealed the truth of the Lykotech Facility, and the cause for the communities nights devoid of the haunting chorus of wolves. Wretched creatures plucked from the wild, chained and caged, emaciated, scarred, and changed pervaded the photos. Hellish re-imaginations of pups stolen from their dens bore misshapen wings, gruesome horns, and tattered flesh. The creatures were of unnatural colors, with cruel fangs and unholy, piercing eyes that seemed to promise revenge. Science and man had once again joined forces to play the role of a twisted and cruel bastardization of God: they became the sort of gods mankind is best at imagining – himself, with absolute power. Satan incarnate.
Shock and outcry from the people followed, of course; but there are always powers prepared to deal with such contingencies, waiting to be called upon. The media was swiftly and decisively silenced, and the scientists of Lykotech ordered to pack up their research and “dispose of the experiments.” Mass euthanasia was the order of the day. But someone in the cosmic schema had other ideas.
While most would come to blame the storm, there would always be whispers of sabotage. Heavy rain and tempestuous winds ravaged the mountains, cutting off all power, and Lykotech’s generators failed – catastrophically. The explosion ripped a gaping hole in the facility, and fire and panic broke out in equal measure. Scientists and workers fled the subterranean levels of the lab in complete darkness. Vengeful anger in their hearts and the scent of acrid smoke mingled with fear filling their heads, the twisted products of Lykotech’s endeavors broke free – and all Hell broke loose. On the heels of their tormentors, the menagerie tore through the ranks of humans, killing and maiming mercilessly in their mad rush for the outside world. The creatures escaped into the forested hills, leaving what few remained alive to beg for rescue.
The greatest authorities are masters of denial. All documents tying Lykotech to the government were burned and buried in various capacities. The surviving scientists and workers were rescued, and promptly arrested. Yet the most important evidence remained, free, in the hills surrounding Lykotech. Mercenaries and predator hunters were sent to eradicate the creatures. But the scientists had done their job too well; the creatures hid and kept on the move. Most hunters came back in their own game bags, slung unceremoniously over the shoulders of their comrades.
The small community was evacuated, and the region quarantined. Permanently.
The humans left behind a decaying little town and a crumbling factory. Lykotech’s abominations were not alone in those mountains, however, and it would not be long before fate would reunite the nightmarish spawn with the line of wolves that should have raised them. The two groups regarded each other with suspicion and hatred, and a rift formed between them. The free wolves kept to the woods, the unholy creatures to the concrete ruins of the lab.
Time passed. Slowly the forest began to reclaim the land that had been lost to Lykotech and the humans, turning it into a perilous jungle of broken brick, glass, and metal, shrouded by a deceptive veil of greenery. The free wolves regained their lost youth over the following springs – and the escapees expanded their numbers in equal measure. Life found a way, as it always does, and the fragile truce between the two factions began to show signs of strain. Now, young eyes are peering lustily across the border, secrets are passed, and whispers of treachery are eating away at the unity of both clans. The wolves’ own Romeo and Juliet are tempting fate, and the Montegues and Capulets wait only for the excuse to go to war. Resources run thin, the forest is on-edge, and the packs are decaying from the inside out. The growing fissures no longer suggest a question of if, but when.
So the question is…
When the pendulum swings its last, for whom will the final bell toll – and who will still be breathing?
A special Thanks to Draco for making our storyline pop, but the basic was done by my dearest friend Dash

Nightmares die hard. In the natural vacuum the humans left behind, the forest began to encroach upon the land that had been taken for man's dark purposes. A great sinkhole filled with rainwater is the only freshwater source for the laboratory abominations. Perhaps it is fitting that it should be the crumbling remnants of the blown out Lykotech Lab that made them; shrouded in moss and mold, overgrown, and abandoned by all save the shunned.
Even the wilderness of the forest forbids the return of the creatures who had been born to it, driving back the Lykotech wolves with unseen eyes, burning with judgment and condemnation. As the labyrinth of the city repels the wild, the maze of the forest keeps the Arcania wolves in the town. Here, root-broken asphalt, crumbling buildings, and decrepit alleyways offer a strange solace and safety for rest and breeding. But watch your back...
On the outskirts of the abandoned town are the reminders of human poverty. A collection of mismatched log cottages and cabins, left to the elements, lies tucked away in a narrow valley. Sheltered from the rest of the decrepit remnants of the city and crumbling lab, it is a... relatively... safe place for members of the Arcania pack to make their dens. Even here there are dangers - chilling reminders of the poor human families that once called these places "home" linger still; rifles hang over sagging doorways, broken picture frames, tattered clothes, and rusting tools litter the ground. It is an eerie place to call home.
History goes back much farther than memory. Like an ancient sentry, the wall stands - some centuries-old construction of man, left behind like so many other half-finished endeavors. The great archway, aged and eroded, leads to black ribbons of abandoned highway on the one side, and on the other, the treacherous and foreign maze of the forest. The greenery seems welcoming and heavenly; but not far beyond this wall is the realm of those not cursed by mankind. Only fools and suicidal elders linger here. It might seem a paradise of memory - but all too easily it may become your final resting place.
On the outskirts of the poor town lies a small five-acre farm, abandoned even before the humans cleared out in the wake of the Lykotech disaster. A huge, once red-colored barn, rotting from rain and termites, sits in the center of the property. The humans' produce quickly went to seed, and has since gone wild. Vegetables and grains grow tall and tangled in the spring and summer, providing unusual food and a hiding place for the clanless and wandering.
Hidden in the hills lies the damning evidence that the humans struggled here: a decrepit mine, caved-in and sucked dry. The vagrants have adopted its cool, rocky caves as their birthing and resting place - but at a price. So close to the ruins of the town and the lab wolves' territory, it is haunted by their unholy cries and waylaid by rumors of vicious attacks and murdered pups. But it is the only sanctuary the loners have... and so they come, wary of the monsters that lie in wait for them.
Dense, spongy grass blankets this mysterious valley in emerald hues, draped like curtains over the hills and valleys in a thick sward of green. The sun warms this wide-open region for much of the year - but winter can turn this lush, damp grassland into an uneven marshland. A snow-melt stream, icy year-round, is fed by the perilous snow-capped mountains. Ascend the alpine heights, and you will find hearty shrubbery and dangerous rocky slopes. Best watch your step, wanderer...
The glittering gem of the unclaimed lands, a crystalline stream welcomes all the wanderers to a safe haven. The fresh, clear spring water is teeming with rainbow trout and other small creatures ripe for the taking. Shrouded by ferns and dense foliage, the stream is the perfect place to rest and clear one's mind. Here, the loners earn a brief reprieve from the challenges of a life lived alone.
Like a rippling sea of grass, this lush terrain is well-populated by prey animals, large and small - if, of course, you can find them. The grass grows thick and tall enough to conceal a wolf in. Hidden somewhere deep in the rolling hills is an abandoned house. A mysterious place, perhaps haunted by the ghosts who came before. If you should chance to find it, how long would you want to stay among the creaky floor boards and faceless moans? What kind of moans, you ask? They will always claim it is just the wind...
This is the heart of the forest, untouched by mankind. Here, the evergreen trees grow tall and robust, and the undergrowth is thick and luscious. The perfect camouflage for wolves young and old. Entrenched in the heart of nowhere country the forest is like a fortress; the perfect residence for a strong and powerful wolf pack. But they remember, there are monsters just over the horizon, and rumors of beasts the size of trees. But the forest is sacred and guarded, or so the adamant leaders require their subjects to believe.
What would seem a scar in the landscape is a welcome sight to the Cedro; the deep ravine provides shelter and protection for those who descend its rocky depths. Jagged granite walls shrouded in green make the way in a perilous maze, but for the wolves who call this place home, the ravine offers the welcome prospect of hidden caves. Only the wind howls through the rocky crags, and a tenuous peace falls over these dens, concealed from prying eyes. Yet the way here is no simple path to walk, and no one can stay here forever.
Strange and out of place in the deepest region of the forest, an enormous oak tree grows tall, alone and proud. The knotted roots have lifted from the ground, rending the earth and leaving small earthen dens draped with thin tendrils of young roots. Erosion from years of rainfall has created a large cave beneath the tree's massive girth. This is the arboreal throne of the alphas. A symbol of the wild, the massive oak has become the resting place for the Cedro. It is a sanctuary for sleeping, birthing, and simply life; safe, in the center of the pack's borders, far from the monsters of the human city.
At the farthest edge of Cedro lands, there is a large lake, the main source of water for the pack. Reflected in the lake's glassy surface are the majestic faces of the hills and mountains. It is a beautiful place to bring a kindred spirit or raise one's offspring. The crystal clear water showcases the fish that swim here, and dares you to find out just how deep the lake goes...
